In this month’s message we are reminded that Jesus Christ is the Prince of Peace.
We all have hectic lives and sometimes, especially during the holidays, can very easily feel overwhelmed, but as soon as we take the time to pray and read our scriptures we find the gift of peace. Can you imagine going through this life without understanding true Peace?
As people are rushing around spending money they do not have, to purchase that one present that will make the holidays “perfect”, making themselves crazy, I often believe they are truly just looking for peace.
As we go through this holiday season and celebrate the birth of our Savior I hope we can share our Personal Peace not only with our Sisters but with everyone we come in contact with, the cashier that has probably worked overtime all week and would really rather be home with their family, the waitress that has a sick child at home and would like to go home early.
The gifts that we treasure and truly hold their value are not the one that sparkle and shine, but the ones that money cannot buy. It is the smile of a child, the quality time we spend with loved ones. I hope you all have a fantastic holiday filled with peace and love.
How Visiting Teachers Love, Watch Over, and Strengthen a Sister - from Daughters in My Kingdom
- Pray daily for her and her family
- Seek inspiration to know her and her family
- Visit regularly to learn how she is doing and to comfort and strengthen her
- Stay in frequent contact through visits, phone calls, letters, emails, text messages, and simple acts of kindness
- Greet her at church meetings
- Help her when she has an emergency, illness or other urgent need
- Teach her the gospel from the scriptures and the Visiting Teaching Message
- Inspire her by setting a good example
- Report to the Relief Society President about their service and the sister's spiritual and temporal well-being
Please remember to report your visiting teaching to your supervisor by the end of the month.

I’m just a visiting teacher I said to my friend today. My Father in Heaven heard me and I seemed to hear Him say. Not just a visiting teacher, a disciple with work to do. And, whenever you carry my message my spirit goes with you. Some daughters of mine have burdens. Some seem to have lost their way. Go take them my love and gospel to strengthen them day by day. Never say you're just a visiting teacher, have faith and you’ll understand. When you enter a home with love and prayer, I take you by the hand. |
